The History of Codebuild
Codebuild Ltd was founded in May 1983 by Charlie Birchenough and Paul Carter who had been independent builders specialising in property refurbishment. Charlie and Paul were buying their materials from a builders merchant which had a monopoly in the area and did not provide a suitable service to meet the varied needs of an independent builder. Therefore, they decided to set up their own builders merchants, Codebuild Ltd, which was designed to understand and meet the specialised needs of independent builders.
During the many years since it was founded, Codebuild has seen a number of important changes: - Paul left the company in 1985, to pursue a successful career in property development and Charlie sadly died prematurely in 1993.
After five years working in the Builders Merchants' Industry, Gary Jarman joined Codebuild in 1983 as Sales Manager, who, along with Charlie and Paul understood the importance of customer service and meeting customer needs. Codebuild has further developed under the leadership of Gary Jarman, Managing Director since 1993 to provide a wider range of products catering for all types of customers in the building industry.
